MESA, AZ: Tagz Tattoo Shop, a custom tattoo studio at 2735 E Main St #9, Mesa, AZ 85213, is building a reputation as the best tattoo shop in Mesa, AZ for black and grey realism, sleeves and custom work. Owned by artist AG, the shop takes walk-ins seven days a week, offers free consultations with every artist, and can be reached by call or text at (480) 670-1037.
Why Mesa Chooses Tagz Tattoo Shop
Tagz is AG’s shop, and he still tattoos there every week alongside resident artists Priscilla, Tanner and Cam, with apprentices Carlos and Presley training under them. Each artist keeps a separate portfolio, so clients choose the artist whose style fits the piece instead of taking whoever happens to be free. The shop opened in 2025, shares its building with an in-house barber, and holds a 4.9-star rating on Google.
“Mesa deserves a shop where serious custom work gets done close to home,” said AG, owner of Tagz Tattoo Shop. “Anyone can walk in, meet the artist, see the room and talk through an idea before spending a dime. If a piece is right for the client, it gets done right. If it isn’t, the client hears that straight.”
Complete Tattoo Services in Mesa, AZ
Custom Tattoos. Every custom tattoo starts with the client’s idea and reference, redrawn around the exact spot it will sit on the body. Clients review the stencil with the artist before the needle starts.
Sleeve Tattoos. Full and half sleeves are the core of the shop’s work. Artists plan the whole arm from the start and can work existing tattoos into the flow.
Black and Grey Realism. Black and grey realism is AG’s specialty, built on high-contrast shading that holds up as it heals.
Portrait and Memorial Tattoos. Portrait and memorial tattoos honor the people and pets who matter most. Artists work from client photos and give these pieces the time they deserve.
Cover-Up Tattoos. Cover-ups start with an in-person look at the existing tattoo during a free consultation, followed by a new design built to bury the old work rather than just darken it.
Fine Line, Lettering and Script Tattoos. Fine line tattoos use clean single-needle linework for delicate designs. Lettering and script tattoos are checked word by word, including dates and accents, before each session.
Color, Traditional and Minimalist Tattoos. Dedicated artists handle bright color and bold traditional styles, and small or minimalist pieces get the same care as large-scale work.
Walk-Ins, Free Consultations and Financing. Walk-in tattoos are welcome seven days a week, and a quick call ahead confirms an artist is available. Free consultations cover design, placement and price, and the Get Tatted Now, Pay Later program offers tattoo financing for larger pieces. Deposits hold the date and come off the final price.
