Abaxx Exchange Named Newcomer of the Year at Energy Risk Asia Awards

TORONTO and SINGAPORE, Oct. 20, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Abaxx Technologies Inc. (TSX:ABXX)(OTCQX:ABXXF) (“Abaxx” or the “Company”), a financial software and market infrastructure company, majority shareholder of Abaxx Singapore Pte Ltd., the owner of Abaxx Commodity Exchange and Clearinghouse (individually, “Abaxx Exchange” and “Abaxx Clearing”), today announced that Risk.net has named Abaxx Exchange “Newcomer of the Year” at the 2026 Energy Risk Asia Awards.

The Energy Risk Asia Awards recognize innovation and expertise in commodity trading and risk management across the Asia-Pacific region. This award brings further regional recognition to Abaxx Exchange, following its Newcomer of the Year win at the Energy Risk Awards in May. This category recognizes emerging companies, or established firms entering new markets, that have demonstrated growth, market relevance, and contribution within their first three years of operation.

Since trading commenced in June 2024, Abaxx Exchange has introduced 18 commodity futures contracts, including the only physically deliverable LNG futures traded globally and the only U.S. dollar-denominated, physically deliverable nickel sulphate and lithium carbonate futures outside China. In precious metals, Abaxx offers U.S. dollar-denominated kilobar gold futures and 1,000-troy-ounce, four-nines silver futures, both are the only of their kind deliverable into Singapore. Its Gold Singapore (GKS) contract was named Best Innovation by an Exchange or Clearing House at the 2026 FOW Asia Pacific Awards last month.

“It’s an honor to receive our second Energy Risk award this year, recognizing our role in connecting global commodity markets,” said Russell Robertson, Chief Business Development Officer at Abaxx Exchange. “Energy systems and trade flows are changing and market participants need new tools to better manage risk. Abaxx is introducing new commodity futures benchmarks to meet that need, and we are grateful to our growing trading and clearing community for their partnership as we support Singapore’s role as a vital trading center connecting the global economy.”
