The $1,500 scholarship recognizes students who demonstrate exceptional leadership, integrity, and a commitment to making a positive impact in their schools, communities, and future careers.
Alyssa was selected from a competitive pool of applicants after submitting an essay reflecting on a deeply personal leadership experience. Rather than describing a formal leadership position, Alyssa shared how she stepped into a leadership role within her own family after her mother was diagnosed with trigeminal neuralgia, a debilitating neurological condition. As the oldest daughter, she assumed additional responsibilities at home while balancing her academic goals, discovering that true leadership is rooted in service, dependability, and compassion during life’s most difficult moments.
